I don't know either! I'm guessing it's some kind of Catholic pre-marriage counseling??? I'm not Catholic, so it's just a guess!

Yes, something like that. Like counseling to prepare you for marriage...im guessing.

Yes, Pre-Cana is the required pre-marital counseling by the Catholic Church. It is required for all couples getting married in a Catholic Church. It must be completed to have your marriage recognized by the Church--meaning having it recognized as a Sacrament.

Catholics can get married without completing Pre-Cana, but that means they are probably getting married outside the Church (i.e. hall, beach, etc.) and the marriage is not recognized by the Church anyway.

Yup......that's what it is. Well not really even 'counselling'. It just to give you information to help you with issues that come up in marriages and teach you how to deal with it in different ways.

Bill and I went on Wednesday for our first class and were shocked at how we felt after the class. The information we received was great. We have a workbook and ther are questions that you answer by yourself, then you compare them with yoru partner......it's really interesting to see each others answers.......

I personally think it's a great thing.......

I agree! We finished ours but it really was something we wound up enjoying. Not that it showed us anything we werent really afraid of but you hear things that you have heard a million times but in a different way. We actually would leave our meetings and talk for hours afterwards
