my future in-laws are throwing us an engagement party and have done so much for us already and they dont have a lot of money and have gone through so much this year (losing one of their sons). They are truly the best in-laws anyone could ask for.

When we got engaged, we were away at a B&B. When we got home, our door was completely decorated by my sister-in-law and neice.
Then a couple of weeks later my friends from college bought us a gift certificate for two nights in the suite at the B&B we were at when we got engaged.
And I can't not mention my generous family members who are helping us with the wedding so much!
My sister bought my dress... that's more than pretty nice!
WOW! That was soooooooooo sweet of her!!!

My family all pitched in and offered to us on what they were going to do: grandparents- catering Grandmother (maternal)- cake FH mother- Flowers
also everyone was doggin us about waiting till 09 to get married and my mom would send me encouraging poems by email every day!

FH's office surprised him at the office by throwing confetti and streamers at him while he was at his desk. It was nice to have him get acknowledgment for the engagement. I get to walk around with a pretty ring feeling special and it made me feel good that someone made him feel special too.

I always feel bad for the guy! It's like they spend thousands on a ring and then wait a whole year or more in most cases and then they get to wear a rented suit or in my fh case a kilt and then they get a plain gold/white gold/platinum band! How boring for them! hahaha We gotta consider ourselves lucky.

When we got back from London my mom had a huge engagement ring ballon with an envelope attached - it had a picture of the T.V. she is going to buy as an e-gift when we move into our place. They also took both families out to dinner to celebrate

We got engaged in Florida keys so the night we got home my mom had a few of my friends over for a little cocktail party. My mom offered to pay for my dress which I was completely surprised about and thankful for!
Another nice thing was my future inlaws gave us an engagement party which was lovely.
Everyone has been so generous and it makes me so happy to know that so many people care about us.

the night after we got engaged FH and I went to Atlantic City to celebrate his bday (he's a new year's baby). His whole family was there and we ended up celebrating our engagement!
also, wen i got back to work one of my BM's (who works for The Knot) had a delivery of TONS of bridal magazines and planners in a super cute Tote Bag that read 'Bride To Be'

As soon as I got engaged, my cousin ran over to my house and gave me so many bridal books, a bridal binder. She was so into helping me and very happy that I got engaged.

my parents were waiting for the call and they send a huge bouquet of roses....my mom then gave me at our engagement dinner a diamond heart that my dad had bought her for their one year anniversary that i loved and mounted the diamond that she also got when i was born in the center of it and gave it to me and for me to wear on my wedding day!!! I have chills just thinking about it now....:)
oh, and the day of my friend met us for breakfast with a bag of bridal mags for me....:)

We had champangne with the entire family that night and just hung out! also my MOH bought me a bridal planner and a slew of bridal mags.

After we got engaged my aunt and uncle gave me $500 each as an engagement gift.

one of my BM's ran ALL OVER the place with me - she basically came with me to every single vendor appt I had. FH didnt really have any interest in going and I was worried I would have to do all that on my own and it made me sad. I dragged that poor girl to every single vendor i visited - during the week, appts always ended ridic late - and whats more is that she could not have been more happy and excited to go with me and offer her help and that really meant the world to me.
