a good reward system. If i finish a task at work, I reward myself by heating up my tea (it takes very little as a reward )

Re: what is the antidote to procrastination?
depends on what you're procrastinating on... work, home, relationship, bill paying...

Re: what is the antidote to procrastination?
Not sure there is an antidote, or if there is I haven't found it yet!!!
As far as rewards, if I do a minute's worth of work I come to LIW for an hour. Seems fair to me!!

There is none. You have to OD on procrastination or have the fire of 'oh crap, this is due in two hours' lit under your arse.

Re: what is the antidote to procrastination?
I used to have that problem all the time in college, ah those were the days.....
I'd tell myself, 'If you don't get this paper done you'll be up all night working on it and lose sleep'. That threat never really worked too well bc I'd find stuff to distract me and I'd end up having to pull all-nighters. There's nothing like feeling the need to look through an old yearbook at 2am when you've got a paper due in 6 hours.
So I would reward myself with food. If I wrote a page I would stop and take a break to have a snack. I even broke it down further sometimes, like if I had a bag of chips I wouldn't allow myself another chip until I wrote another sentence.
Hey, I did some of my best writing this way and got better grades on them then when I actually wrote my papers 'properly'.

ps - cindy, i am too much a slob for your plan to work. but thanks!
I think though, I may have to kick Vic out tonight. He distracts me.

Re: what is the antidote to procrastination?
ok I officially have another 1/2 hour to procrastinate and then I go home and write this damn paper until it's done.
I do this every time I have to write a paper BTW. I am a predictable procrastinator.
I love it.

Re: what is the antidote to procrastination?
I am the queen of procrastination..... I don't think I can be cured at this point.
I did a paper the night before it was due. Instruction on paper 'this is not an overnight paper'. LOL LOL .... well I did it. I will find my grade on Saturday.
I find that I cannot work well unless I am under pressure. I have not inspiration if I start 'on time' like everybody else.
Unfortunatelly I stress myself all the time until it is done. Yet, I still can't do it!
