I think I spent a little more on mine but I just fell in love with them and couldn't help it.
$900 for 150 invites, rsvps, reception cards, maps, and hotel cards. This also includes postage, addressing the envelopes, assembling the invites and a bound book with the guest list to keep track of rsvps, thank yous and gifts.

Re: What is the average??????
There is a huge range of prices for invites. We are paying a little over $4000 for 150 invites which are engraved. We are not having reception cards. It includes the actual invite and envelopes. It is from Mrs. John Strongwater (that is the company). If you are interested in the details, FM me and I will give you all of the info. Unfortunately, I still have to get a calligrapher for the envelopes. A lot of brides may think this is insane, but the invitations are beautiful and my mother really enjoys fine stationary.

I don't think there is an average either - I have seen sets for as low as $1.50 up $20+. It will depend on your budget and how important it is to you.
We got 125 invites for $675. This was for invites & rsvp cards (we didnt need reception cards) with printing.
