what is the average cost of alterations?

My dress was bought in FL, so I will need to have the alterations and bustle done up here, and I was wondering if anyone knew the average price and where to go for alterations.

I'm not sure of the dress itself, I suppose it depends on how much you need done. If you just need a regular hem and such it won't be bad- but some dresses, ones with beading or trim on the bottom need a hollow to hem which is where they have to take the skirt up at the waist (or wherever the bottom most seam is) since they can't take it right off of the bottom. THAT can get pricey!

I was quoted anywhere from $25 to $50 per point for my bustle-- I think I'll end up between the two if I go with the bridal salon for alterations.

They can get pricey so I was a stickler for buying somewhere that had a cap! But I know your situation is different- maybe you can call a few places to get pricing- they should give it to you over the phone!
