I have some groomsmen complaining that they don't want to spend a fortune on renting a tux because they feel like they are thowing thier money away.
While I agree with that, it has to get done! I am sick of all the complaining grrrrrrrrrrr!
I was at a wedding recently and you could tell that the quality of the tux was not good by the way they felt and the looked. I am tryign to explain tha to them, but men don't care!
So what is the average price for a nice tux? So I can warn them.

My FH paid a little over $200 for his tux when he was in his friend's wedding. Personally I thought that was a bit high, but it really was a very nice tux!
I think that $150 will probably be a good price for a 'nicer' tux rental.

Our guys paid about $110 for a nice Kenneth Cole 3-button tux from Men's Wearhouse

$150 at Dante Zeller on Queens Blvd. You can also get a coupon from their site to get it for less.

wow.... FH BOUGHT a designer (ungaro) tux at syms for $169.... After the shirt and accessories, it was still only $215...
What a racket the retail rentals are!!!!

Totally agree. I am not saying you should ask your GMs to buy, but just letting people know that they really are not that expensive - so if they should find their FHs in this situation in the future.
MY FH got one that was really nice and really reasonably priced for his brother's wedding and he is wearing it for ours. You can get a nice tux for only two or three times more than a rental fee.
If your FHs are going to be in other weddings - they are better off just buying them.

our best man will be wearing a black or grey suit.... We thought it would be the best option, becuase he could at least wear something he has, or get something he can wear again...
Frankly, mens suits all look the same to me... I would think that matching shirts and ties would basically be all they would need
