What is the best solution for cleaning white formica cabinets?

They are pretty stained in some spots and was wondering, is straight Clorox gonna do the trick or is there a special solution out there that works even better for tougher, grease/oil stains?

I recently made the big mistake of using bleach to clean stains from my formica kitchen counter. I left it on a long time while going off to do other things. So now there are yellow stains from the bleach. Short of replacing (or painting) it all, any suggestions out there for me? Thanks in advance!

Glad to see the lemon juice trick. Will give that a try myself. Did the same thing with bleach trying to clean up coffee stains off the counter.

i did the same thing with bleach..The only thing that worked for me was lime-away...On any stain in the white formica..i hate it cause now everything i put on it stains it.i will try the lemon juice.

I have had all kinds of stains on my 'almost white' kitchen counter tops! After using a juicer w/ cranberries, I had a red stain about a foot in diameter. Ah! Get out the bleach, right? Wrong. What was a soft red stain immediately turned BRIGHT ORANGE with the bleach! I thought I had ruined the counter. My Bar Keeper's Helper, soft scrub - Nothing fazed it. I thought of lemon juice. (Don't know why.) The lemon juice (reconstituted) almost immediately faded the stain. I use the lemon juice (the cheap, big bottle) for the Formica cabinet tops exclusively now.

I`ve done the same thing. Soft scrub worked for me.

Hi Tonya,

No advice for you, but it might help the readers to know what color your counter is everywhere else and if the bleach also lightened your counter... :) Good luck!

Not worth it for staying for a year or I would have.

Try a Mr. Clean Magic eraser first.. the original one... I swear by it.. It gets off everything!!!!!

If it doesnt work alone I add some Mr clean cleaner to it..

Formica - Is that like marble?

If so I steam clean everything now and you would be so suprised what it can do.
