what is the best way to go about this?

I am 99.9% (don't want to say 100% until I put down the deposit) that I will be getting married in Florida now. I am super excited about it but I am stumped on something. When I send out my STD's should I send out info on where it is going to be and what is happening over the weekend and info on booking the hotels and stuff all with my STD's or should that come at a separate time? I want to give my guests enough time to make plans to come. Any advise on a time line would be very helpful. I don't have a 'wedding website' and I don't know if I will be making one up... so I can't list anything on one.

I personally think that is a great idea. Rather than having to mail the STD's and then the info at a later time, it would make sense to do them together. Waiting to send them out with the invites would be a time crunch I think.

I agree with MayBride 519....send everything woth the STD's and it will give people more time to decide what they want to do and they will have more time to budget themselves if need be.

you can create a wedding website with all the info and put that website on the save the date. this way, you can add new information and keep guests up to date.

At a minimum, let the people know on the STD that the wedding will be in Florida. That way you can send out the STD's a year before the wedding and keep gathering info about the wedding weekend and send a package with everything as soon as you can. Of course, if you HAVE all the info, just send it all out at the same time as the STD.

Oh and the EASIEST wedding website to create is through WeddingAnnouncer.com! Mine looks like a pro created it and all I really had to do was add a bit of text and some pics.

For those who are computet illiterate like some of the elder guests it may be hard for them to get the info off the comp. But computer info might be easier and people can check regularly for updates. But info in the STD might be easier and less time consuming. Good Luck

I was going to suggest the same thing. I would create a newsletter explaining the itinerary (if more than a one day affair) including hotel info. That kind of trip takes plannning and I would want it ASAP. (I'm a little anal ) I would attach the STD right on the newsletter,

With our STDs we sent a letter along with it that had the hotel information typed out. It was almost an announcement along with the STD. At least give them the hotel information-and if you need to later on send more info-attractions, things to do, what you will be planning for the weekend

Thanks girls, I agree the best thing to do is to send it out with my STD's now the only thing to do is figure out the best way to do that! (newsletter, package etc) This wedding planning business is complicated!!!! lol
