I believe duchess satin is a nice way to say polyester satin and silk satin is a satin blended with real silk (obviously the nicer of the two choices.) I could be wrong on this though so I hope you get some more responses.

I believe duchess satin is 100% polyster whereas silk satin has silk in it. Not sure if it's 100% silk though.

Georgia-There is also Pure Silk Duchess Satin which is 100% silk.
