What is the difference BTWN UNITY CANDLE and MEMORY

I think a unity candle signifies your union and is more of a church thing a a memory candle is done for members in your family that may have passed away, but you still want to recognize them in your ceremony..................i think

a unity candle symbolizes the union of YOU and RONNIE.. and the union of 2 families.. a memory candle is for those who are deceased

A unity candle is one that your parents light the tapers (your parents light 1 and his parents light the other)- then together you and your fiancee light the UNITY candle- uniting the bond of your two families... It's a symbolic thing.
A memory candle is something that you light at your ceremony as well but you light it in memory of someone. It's the same size as the unity candle but they're for different purposes. You don't have to have either one at your ceremony but the unity candle is common at least at Catholic ceremonies. We may light a memory candle for just my grandmother or we may light one for all of the people who we know couldn't be here physically but are here in spirit.
