I typed up a resignation letter ...and i'm not sure what to do. Do i go into the office and hand him the letter, or do i verbally tell him and then hand him the letter?

speak to your superior/boss first then HR. the letter is your 'formal' resignation and IMO should follow the verbal notice.

all i have is one boss..i am in a very small office...no hr dept either
I just said I was sorry but I couldn't work in this environment and I had to give them my two weeks notice.

I gave my notice verbally and then had to fill out a 'termination survey'.

Definately speak to your supervisor first. Thank them and tell them you appreciate all you learned there (even if it's not true). Then give the letter to the appropriate person.

i dont have a supervisor..and if this happens tomorrow, its only going to be me & my boss in the office alone..its going to be so awkward..my other co worker has off tomorrow and wednesday.
do i tell him that i need to talk to him,and then hand him the letter without saying anything, or tell him first and then hand him the letter?
its going to be torture for me after i do this..just the weirdness because my office is so small..this *****!!

i would tell them verbally and then give them the letter after. give two weeks notice at least!

it will probably be one day short of two weeks. I'm not going to work today, so if i do it tomorrow, i'll have next friday as my last day. I dont want to go to this job on a monday and start the new job on a tuesday!

I work in a small place first...I would definitely talk to the boss and tell him that you have to leave for X reason (if you're comfortable enough to share that) and that you're grateful for your time with that company. I would then say, 'I typed up a letter for your records'. Thank him/her, then leave!

Walk in, tell the boss to shove it and that his job sux...
Seriously, I'd speak to the boss about it and then give him the resignation letter. You can also give two weeks notice as a way of not burning bridges within the company.
