What is the right thing to do...

(or what would you do )

We got our first package today!! Do we wait until the shower to open? My mom says that I should bring it with me to the shower. I want to peak.

This is exactly what I did. It didnt even occur to me to bring it to the shower.

if u want to cheat, open up the big brown box, inside of it should be your present all gift wrapped...now on top of the gift is prob a receipt that says what it is...so without opening it, u can check to see what it is lol

i would open it and send a ty. I doubt the senders intentions were for you to schlep it to your shower

Well, I got some gifts sent to my house and the sender came to the shower. I brought all the gifts that were sent. Sometimes people send it to your house and expect you to carry it to the shower.

I did this for one gift and got the tys out. Then I got another one this past week and my sister took it to her house-they took it out of the big box and read who it was from and it was fh's friends so it was not a shower gift. So....they made me lug it back to our house and fh and I opened it and it's a DYSON!!! So now the rule is I'm allowed to take it out of the shipping box because it will likely be wrapped but I don't know when my shower is . All these rules..

I had several people do this and I know they are coming to my shower. Only one couple isn't coming and they sent a gift and FH wants to wait til the shower to send them a thank you because his mother said so

Absolutely! If you send a gift to my house, you better believe I'm opening it and not carrying back and forth.

I don't know what to do! FH just said to wait, since he knows when the shower is...so does that mean it is soon????? I have been getting all mixed messages. I thought it was 8/3 then I found out the rsvp was the 7/10 and then someone else said it was in Aug. I told him I heard from _ that it was in Aug and he said 'she's a dumb a s s ' Ahhhhhhhhh...I hate this...I want to know what is in the @ box but FH doesn't. I know I need to wait because it is a gift for the 2 of us and it would be wrong to sneak a peek. It is a light box though FH won't let me touch it.
