What is the RSVP date ettiquette

I was wondering how far in advanced you all were expecting to get your reply cards send back to you.......any suggestions?

My wedding is July 21st ......should i put on the reply card June 1st?? Sooner or Later??

Any suggestions would be helpful ...Thanks!

i think it can depend on when your head count needs to be in.

we did our RSVP date about 5 wks before. wedding 02/25....respond date 01/17

We did ours 6 weeks ahead of time, but that was mostly because we have a lot of OOT guests and we're OOT ourselves. I think the normal time is 4-5 weeks.

Apparently proper ettiquette is 3 weeks according to the lady at my invitation store.

But I did 5 weeks anyway. My sisters college graduation is the week before the wedding. I need extra time.
