I have QVC on right now and they are selling all of this red hat society merchandise and all of the women in the audience are dresses in purple and wearing red hats. This is supposed to be for older women who are young at heart or something like that? Where did this come from?

Re: What is the story with the red hat society?
Are you talking about Woman Wearing Red that is going to happen on Feb 4th to support woman with heart disease foundation?
I'm not sure what it's about really. I figure it's just something for older women to have fun with. My Grandmother buys red hat merchandise all the time, but I don't think she's actually a member of the society.

Ladies, there was a post about this not too long ago. The gist of it is, women over 50 meet up and wear red hats and purple shirts (under 50: pink hat society: lilac shirts & pink hats) and obviously they stand out when they meet. (I'm at school & only have a few minutes or else I'd post the thread)...
