My fh and i went to go see it on sat. and we liked it a lot. the price seemed fair and the hall looked very pretty (set up for someone's wedding). I tried to search for reviews of this place and found only some negative comments about it but not from anyone who has had their wedding there. I know the food is good b/c they have the same chef's from Carltun Park and i went to a party there. We liked the view of the water since we are having our ceremony there. Please help.

That is strange. If you like the place, I would reearch thru Better Business and see what other feedback you get on this site. Just remember to always go with your instinct!!

You might want to search under Sail Harbor (I think that is what it was called). It hasn't been Carltun on the Sound very long.

I am having my wedding there and we thought the same thing at first. I have heard from people that have had their wedding there, but not from this site. I fell into that same thing, thinking if it's not on this site it is not good
But, like I said, a few people I know had their wedding there and LOVED it. Also most of the reviews on LIW were that it wasn't directly on the water and they didn't like one of the banquet managers, not that anything was wrong with the food or weddings, etc.
We feel in love with the place, and I like the fact that it is not a wedding factory. I don't want to get married directly on the water, b/c I have been to weddings and people spend most of their time on the balcony, drinking, smoking and looking at the water. At Carltun you have a gorgeous view of the water and your guests will stay inside and enjoy your wedding, band, etc.

If you really love the place, then I wouldn't worry how many people have used it previously. If your instinct says go for it, trust your instinct.
The Woodlands was a virtual unknown when I came on here, and the only feedback wasn't glowing either: the ballroom is shaped weirdly, etc etc. But we stuck to our guns and had a wonderful wedding there.
