What Is With People

What Is With People

I truly do not understand how a person can say . . . and I quote 'I do not have any fight left in me' and then proceed to send not one, but two emails to an entire office of people which do nothing but stir up drama, cause feelings to be hurt and/or trampled on, and result in reputations being damaged?????

Office full of lawyers, huh?

Seriously, I hate office politics and I do not understand why people can be so underhanded and try to sway opinions against other people.

It most certainly is. And I can't quite figure out if it's annoying the heck out of my b/c of the personal insult that is being sent to every single attorney in the program (including 5 that have been working here for less than 6 months), or the accusation that I'm a liar, or the fact that the reason behind it is to try and intimidate me.

It sounds like it's a little bit of everything and I know your nerves are on edge right now. What about your Boss? Can he get in the middle and straighten it out and put this name dredging to an end?

Unfortunately this all relates to the fact that I am union president and people are unhappy with decisions that are being made, despite the fact that the bylaws dictate the decisions.

Are any of your other co-workers involved in the process (attend meetings, etc). If they want their opinions heard, shouldn't they make them vocal to everyone, not just you?

Anyone that wants their opinion heard is certainly welcome to voice it to everyone. My complaint is with an email that says:

'Darlene, I am fed up with the drama . . . Please explain why you are so intransient on the issue of how the meeting is held this would be the part that is controlled by the bylaws - how the meeting is held . . . Perhaps you should heed your own guilt trip and not severely and adversely affect the membership with nonsense . . . '

Trust me when I say it goes on and on and on from there. This is not the first such email. Only the latest in a string. The last one said something to the effect of 'we never said it wasn't necessary' as a direct response to my use of the word 'necessary' when I had in writing from the we that is referenced a statement that said 'there is no need'. Give me a break! Is there really a difference between 'IMO it's not necessary' and 'IMO there is no need'???? Not that I can see. But an email that says 'Darlene we never said it wasn't necessary' is a veiled accusation that I am a liar.

Like I said . . . W T F is wrong with people????
