I just don't understand why people insist on bringing kids/babies to our wedding when they clearly weren't invited? Your 3 month old does not belong at my wedding!!! I thought the names on the invite would be clear but apparently people just don't care! this wedding is turning into a complete circus. arghhh as if i don't have enough to stress about. vent over.

I would call them and tell them absolutely no children at the wedding. It will save you stress, at this point I have no problems saying no to rude guests. If they don't want to come then, that is fine by me.

We're actually losing a lot of friends at our wedding entirely because no children are invited. At least 3 couples aren't coming because it's either bring the kids or stay home.
I guess you should consider the options. Do you want these people to be there for your special day? Or would you rather they and their children stay home entirely? If it's the latter, you can uninvite them.

You know. I'm very PRO children. Children are invited to my wedding (if you can walk you can come)....but recently I've learned that people can have NO sense.
A friend is due 7 days before our wedding....and still plans to come?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?! W. T. F. You have a newborn and you're either planning to 1)bring her or 2) be apart from her for several hours when she's feeding every few?
FH see's nothing wrong with that but I was stern last night that I will talk to her and if she's offended so be it....but I can't endorse that and I don't want a week old child at my reception- the lights the music- no way.
So...my long winded advice is to just tell them and SCREW what they think. Try to be diplomatic but often people don't listen and you have to be blunt. Good luck!

Exactly!!!! This is what I have been getting - a bunch of them! So ridiculously rude!
There are a few people that have called to say that if they can't bring their kids they won't come (even though some of them have parents in the area that can easily watch the kids which I don't get). I would tell them that they can't bring the kids but we already are having a bunch of kids that were INVITED (like my brother and sister and FH's nieces and a few cousins we are close) so it would be weird if they showed up after I said no kids and there were a bunch there, right? And we want them there bc they are close friends but would a close friend really give you that kind of ultimatum??? This is really stressing me out.
Edit: The worst thing is that the people that actually have manners and aren't bringing their kids will probably be insulted when they come to the wedding and see all the rude people who brought their uninvited children.

I know how you feel, we were forced to have kids at our wedding, so glad its supposed to be about us

i dont understand this. I have a few friends with toddlers and they are THRILLED to be getting out of the house and away from them for the evening. Even if i did allow kids i know no one would bring them lol

I feel your pain...we are having the same problem...also with people insisting on bringing guests who weren't invited...*sigh*
people need to be a little more understanding that it isn't a personal attack or anything, we just need to cut it off SOMEWHERE....

I made it very clear we would help FH's OOT family and my OOT family arrange babysitters to watch the kids at the hotel during the reception. Its all over my web page plus its been mentioned to them MANY MANY MANY times. Still I am sure someone will do this to me. The only babys I want there are the two still in my friends bellies who are due in Sept and Nov.
How about calling them and offering to help find them a sitter.

OMG i totaly agree with you on this. Im not even having a ring boy or flower girls at my wedding because i dont want to do that to the parents. If ppl do bring kids i will be very pissed.

Oh yes, I foresee this problem already for myself. I have at least one friend who did not attend our mutual friend's wedding because she was not allowed to bring her babies (yes plural) so I am sure that she will give me the same ultimatum, which will of course be leave the babies home or don't come..This is MY day and that's it!
