WHAT is wrong with people?

So about a week ago, my mother asked me if I sent out engagement announcements to my grandmother's sisters in Florida. To which I responded no. When I asked why she was asking me such a question, she told me that my grandmother's sisters were b*tching b/c they received an announcement from me and that they felt obligated to send a gift.

So then yesterday, she asks again if I was sure I didn't send out engagement announcements. I was like mom...1) I don't have their addresses and had to ask you for their address in order to send out the thank you notes for the gifts they sent, so how could I possibly send out an engagement announcement to them and 2) I'm pretty sure I'd know if I mailed an engagement announcement.

My mom proceeds to tell me that my aunt told her about how her mother in law (one of my grandmother's sisters) received a handwritten engagement announcement with my parent's address on the envelope. My mother didn't write or send anything to them either so who the hell wrote it?

They are either

1- lying that they received an announcement
2- received an announcement for another couple and confused it with you guys
3-someone in the family sent them a handwritten letter but didn't tell you, and now they aren't fessing up.

So annoying! I hate hearing people's petty complaints about EVERYTHING!

They're also pissed they weren't invited to the E-Party. THEY LIVE IN FLORIDA YEAR-ROUND. Were they really going to fly up to NY to attend a 3-hr engagement party on a Sunday afternoon. We planned on inviting them to the wedding but just wanted to keep the headcount down for the E-Party. These old Italian women are going to be the death of me.

LMAO! They would've bitched if they did receive an invite, and complained about sending you a gift, and about how they aren't going to travel to NY for an e-party. My grandmother's sister, who I barely know complained about not being invited to our engagement party. Meanwhile, I saw them in the mall one day, and I went up to them to say hello, and they didn't even recognize me!!! They had no idea who I was.

Don't let it bother you, no matter what you do there will always be someone who is not happy!

RETIRED people have time to do this! I'm dead serious. If I were a betting girl, I would say that your grandmother sent out the letter, since she figured you had not sent them an announcement.

Trust me, my parents are retired and live in FL, and they would do this. lol
