Re: What is your best Halloween memory?

I guess I should answer......

I don't remember the exact year, but my mother made me a princess costume to wear with a cape, dress, tiara, etc. And then when the actual day came for me to wear it, it was snowing outside and bitterly cold, so I had to wear my winter clothes under my costume and I looked more like a pink pumpkin than a princess.

But along the way of trick or treating in my parent's neighborhood, a homeowner took pity on everyone and made coffee and hot chocolate in addition to his candy to keep everyone warm.

I never really remember any good memories from Halloween since I was never fond of it when I was younger. I remember I use to go out trick or treating after school for like an hour bc my mom made me & then I would be home before dark. I use to hide the rest of the evening in my bedroom

Three years ago I dressed up as a Geisha and it was sooo much fun! I don't know why but I loved that costume. I even won 'best costume'
Sadly, I haven't had a good costume since then
Hopefully this year that will change!

Re: What is your best Halloween memory?

My freshman year of HS I dressed up as Medusa. I was 14 and I went trick-or-treating. It was a ball! I had rubber snakes in my hair, it was great.

But there is another great Halloween. It was the last yr I went trick-or-treating. I won't say how old I was... But I dressed up as Charlie Chaplin and two very old men approached me at Burger King. One was in a wheel chair. They were brothers and the brother who was pushing the wheel chair, told me when he was young, the only time his father would take them to the theater, was if they were playing a Charlie Chaplin picture. That his father loved his pictures and that I made him think about something he hadn't thought of in years. That was really touching.

I love Halloween. Just giving out candy creates great memories for me. Now some of the kids from my block come by and ask if they can see Oscar and that makes me smile!!!

Some really fun memories:

Being a clown in the Greenwich Village parade.

Going as Frenchie from Grease, and DH was Danny.

This year all I am doing is giving out candy and putting my baby in a cute bib and hat and taking some photos of him if I find my camera. That is enough this year.
