What is your favorite kind of chocolate?

I prefer Dark, but I still love Milk. I don't like white chocolate. If I had the choice of white chocolate or nothing, I would pick nothing.

Yes, dark shuold be all by itself, not nuts, raisins, however, I do love Milky Way Midnight.

Also chocolate from the UK is the best!

See, I thought I was the only one States-side who knew this, because the people who prefer foreign chocolate always seem to prefer german or swiss.

Silly deluded people.

BRITISH CHOCOLATE. It is the only way to go. I have a stash in my freezer at all times. Last time I was in Disney World I spent almost $30 on chocolate in the UK Pavilion.

(Ronie, this does not apply to you because you prefer high cocoa content. You were born to live in the United States, dear.)

No, my FH hates chocolate, but likes white chocolate in small amounts. Hence the poll in case we end up having the $$$ for a chocolate fountain. I want FH to be happy, but I also want to make sure that the majority of our guests are happy. But, this chocolate fountain is still a dream, and not a reality yet anyways!

I thougth that US chocolate did not have high cocoa content. You have to lok for specialty brands like Scharffen Berger.

US chocolate, like Hershey's is mostly sugar, I thought.

I like British milk chocolate because it is so creamy.

For dark I like Ghiardelli, or the fancy stuff they have at Whole Foods that come wrapped in plastic & sold by weight, like the imported cheeses.

In general I like milk chocolate best, but I love Lindt's white chocolate truffles

It's odd, because if I want a chunk of chocolate, I would want milk chocolate. But now with the limited edition white chocolate reeses peanutbutter cup and kit kat, I prefer those with white chocolate.

According to my Dad who used to work for the US Division of Cadbury before it was sold to Hershey:

FDA Regulations require that in order for something to legally be sold as 'Chocolate' in the USA, it must have a certain cocoa content. If it has less than that amount, it can only be sold as 'confection' or 'Imported chocolate' if it fits that qualification. In the UK they do not have these regulations, so they put a LOT of cream and butter in their chocolate, which not only makes it more fattening, it makes it 4000 times more heavenly.

Yeah, when I was 7 or so. He used to bring home display cases full of creme and mini eggs around Easter time. Actually, it was somewhat ironic since we're Jewish (made only more ironic when Dad brought home the talking bunny rabbit that wished me a Happy Easter).

Dad was the comptroller of Cadbury USA until it was sold around December of 1988 without Anti-Trust hearings to Hershey. We weren't allowed to have Hershey bars (or hershey made chocolate) in the house for a long time. That was a bit of a problem, considering that Hershey controlled well over half of the chocolate sold in the US at the time. We ate a LOT of M&Ms in those days!

Milk I agree with the ladies who say British is best (or Irish, there is a Cadbury factory in Dublin too ). Anytime I go to Guy & Gallard or Devon & Blakely I treat myself.

I Love chocolate...esp Dark Chocolate add some coconut or nuts and I'm in heaven...but when it all comes down to it...I don't think theres really a chocolate that I don't enjoy one way or another...my favorite way to eat chocolate (only if its a plain piece) with a piece of semolina bread or a bread stick...TRY IT BEFORE YOU SAY GROSS...I'm Italian and I grew up eating Nutella (chocolate and hazelnut spread...yummm) my mom would make sandwiches for our lunch (and yes we got teased...but who cares the sandwich was cloud nine ) to this day I cannot resist the urge to have a piece of semolina with my chocolate(it basically has to be a loaf kind of bread...not into the sliced bread thing unless its nutella)...
