I have to say I hat patriotic music, but 'Golden Dream' from The American Adventure at Disney World brings me to tears every time!
ETA: Here are the lyrics..Plus is has quotes from JFK and MLK Jr. interspersed.
America, spread your golden wings Sail on freedom's wind across the sky. Great bird with your golden dreams flying high, flying high.
Restless one in a world of change, keeping dreams aloft in the rain. Spirit free, soaring through the clouds of time, of time.
America, you must keep dreaming now Dreaming the promised vow of your pioneers America, keep on flying now. Keep your spirit free. Facing new frontiers.
America, spread your golden wings Sail on freedom's wind across the sky. Great bird with your golden dreams, Flying high, flying high, Flying high, flying high!

Re: WHat is your favorite patriotic song?
I love the Battle Hymn of the Republic. I always liked it, but I think they played it during the national service for 9/11 a little while after it happened, and I remember just crying and crying.
Being a big Yankee fan, I'm partial to God Bless America too.

Same here. They played it last night at the end of fireworks night at Shea, and a lot of us were singing along..it's very moving.

although it loses something when said right after the pledge EVERY SINGLE DAY, the star spangled banner, when done modestly, kills me.

Re: WHat is your favorite patriotic song?
The first time my brother was in the Middle East 3 years ago, a friend of his called up the radio station and requested 'Proud to be an American' in his honor. So, of course, every time I hear that song, I tear up. (Ironically, it used to make me laugh when I was younger.)

That's 'G-d Bless The USA' by Lee Greenwood.
Jax, did you know that the Vibes used to sing that song?
I'm really not a fan of most patriotic songs, to be honest. I like the National Anthem and I like G-d Bless America (mostly for the irony - written by a Jew, made famous by an Anti Semite). But I guess it's not really my style. I'll tell you what 'patriotic' song I can't stand, though: 'Courtesy of the Red White and Blue' by Toby Keith.

Re: WHat is your favorite patriotic song?
I thin when i was younger I liked that 'proud to be an american' song. The Gulf war (1991) and then 9/11 really turned me OFF to aptriotism, because it seemed so fake to me. And esp after 9/11 when people were singign patriotic songs as a rally cry to kill other people, or telling me that I'm not patriotic enough and I should levae the country because I don't want my rights taken away or because I disagree with the goovt's, i got SO turned off to any expression of patriotism. When I hear 'God Bless America' I hear it as 'God Bless America F--K everyone else' and it bothers me. The reason I love 'golden Dream' is that it doesn't bopast about how great the US is and how we're the bets or better than anyone else, but it inspires America to become better, weather the storm and emerge. To me, that's inspiring.

Neil Diamond - America is really the only one I can get into.
And thats probably not as 'patriotic' as most of you were expecting.
