I am going into the city tonight to meet fh for a date at midnight. I am trying to think of places we can go for dinner & cocktails at that hour. I am looking for somewhere romantic, hip or just plain fun. I was thinking maybe PARK, or cafeteria but we always go there. I was also thinking maybe PASTIS but there is always a line and the food isn't that grand. Sushi samba is always good for ppl watching, too. Hmmm, ideas please.

We love going to Maloney & Porcelli specially Friday because of their unlimited wine dinner
I know it's not a NYC original but I live for Houstons on 54th and 3rd.

We ended up going to PARK on 18th & 10th for champagne & appetizers we were then going to THE SPOTTED PIG but I was too sleepy so we came home. Next friday we are going to meet for another date & I will try a place listed on here.

One across the street from Pastis is a cool atmosphere and has good food.

I like DIP. It's a fondue place. But you can't make reservations unless you have 4 or more people. You can go there as 2 people, but I guess you'd have to wait a while to get a table.

if you are ever in soho shopping there is a tiny italian restuarant on spring st., one blk east of 6th ave called la dolce vita. its so fabulous!!

I like Aleo, on 20th between 5th and 6th. It's a small place, but the food is great and so is the atmosphere. In the warmer months, there is a small courtyard in the back.
