My grandma's/mom's stuffing.

Unfortunately, I am going to the inlaws this year and won't get any. My MIL's is good but it is a totally different kind with totally different ingredients than what I grew up having.

Re: What is your favorite thing to eat on Thanksgiving?

Oh my god... I forgot Apple Crisp. That's something my mom ONLY makes on Thanksgiving... Thursday can't get here fast enough!

Bride to be, I understand the inlaws thing. We rotate Thanksgiving year to year, and I miss the Thanksgiving foods I grew up with when I am with Pat's family. His dad is an excellent cook, but he makes lots of things I don't care for on Thanksgiving ~ things they couldn't imagine Thanksgiving without! My mom always saves me some of her food for the day after.

Shamma, I know you said you are Carribbean, andyour post just reminded me of my grandfather who was born in Barbados (to a Carribbean dad and Italian mom, lol). On Thanksgiving he always said he was thankful for coming to America, where he could stuff himself with good food every November and not feel like a pig. He always liked a good eating holiday, native to his upbringing or not!

Re: What is your favorite thing to eat on Thanksgiving?

garlc and butter mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie!

Re: What is your favorite thing to eat on Thanksgiving?

JennRenee that is too funny We say we are happy we got the opportunity to come to America too, but I guess for all opportunities not only th good food in November

I do not know but come the day of all the food in front of me makes me so overwhelmed I can't eat, I guess I have the opposite effect than most people do.

Re: What is your favorite thing to eat on Thanksgiving?

LOL JennRenee...I love my stuffing, too!!

Re: What is your favorite thing to eat on Thanksgiving?

I've never tried a string bean casserole, but I keep seeing commercials for it, and I'm thinking...hmmm...gotta try that some time. As for Thanksgiving foods that I love, Pecan Pie, and stuffing!
