We are trying to book soon so we know what we have to pay. FH wants to splurge since it's our HM. I would like to keep costs at a minimum.

Re: What is your HM costing you?
$4800 or so for All Inclusive Couples Ocho Rios, Jamaica with airfare for 7 nites/8 days, 1 bdrm suite
We went during the 'busy season' -- so our rate was higher than I would have liked--but so worth it.

Re: What is your HM costing you?
at first our budget was $5k, and we stayed right there until about a week ago we decided to add 4 nights in Disney and it is now over $7K.

Wow, that's great! Where in Italy are you going? I think we'll technically be there for 11 days/10 nights.

Re: What is your HM costing you?
im figuring the flight to aruba will be at least $800 for two of us.... we dont have to pay for the hotel- its a timeshare and is part of FH's aunt's gift to us....im figuring $350 a day spending money for the week should be enough - so that puts us at $3,250.00 - i dont know how much to figure to spend every day we've never gone on a real vacation - but im hoping $350 a day is enough

Re: What is your HM costing you?
ours was about $4750, and our budget was $5K -$6K, hoping to stay much closer to $5K. a TA actaully gave us a quote of $5400, w/ direct flights, but we found the same dates, room type, online for $700 less, just w/ connecting flights. that was $700 more to spend during the HM!
ETA: we spent 6 nights in Mexico, Excellence Riviera Cancun.

It really depends on what you want to do. If you want to do a lot of activities it will add up. If you sit on the beach all day, it will be cheaper. One thing you have to do though is the jeep tour. It's so fun!

Re: What is your HM costing you?
Didn't realize it was considered the high end but $6k-$7k for all-inclusive Sandals St. Lucia (Grande) + flights in a penthouse oceanview concierge room. 7 nights. I'm assuming some people who are voting are not doing all-inclusive so it might not be totally accurate.
Ours also might be a drop more expensive because we are flying there direct from JFK but we are not returning to NY, and it was hard to find any good flights. All of our options were spending an entire day travelling with 2 long stopovers, or 1 stopover with an overnight connection. We finally found a return flight with one stopover that only involves a half a day of travel at a reasonable price so we snapped it up.

Re: What is your HM costing you?
all i can say is thank god for our timeshare! we're spending 2 weeks all-inclusive in aruba at the Occidental Grand. with airfare (which was a total of $810) i believe we spent $3400. I priced the same exact trip on the major travel sites and it was close to $8k. needless to say if it wasn't for our timeshare we would not be going on this HM

I think finding the exact travel date and time you want is what's killer. I just booked my flight to Vegas for work and it was $650! Thank God it's not out of my pocket
Plus a lot gets factored in with resorts. There are peak months so it will be more, plus the type of room you are in. When FH and I went to Couples Swept Away (an AI) I think we paid just over $3k for both of us including airfare. But we had a regular room, not a fancy suite.
