Re: What is your occupation?
I am a technically an Insurance Assistant.
My job is basically a lower level Client Rep for my department.
I work in the International Casualty Broking business for large US based clients in regards to their overseas liability risks.
I took this job as a step down so I could go back to college. I actually love my job, but I am over qualified. It causes problems from time to time (nothing negative) it's just people give me work to touch up because they know I can do it and do it right. When technically speaking a person of my positions should be clueless *shrug*. It's strange. It's also tough on other Ins Assts. I feel like I'm that geeky kid in school you wished would stop having all the answers. Thankfully my two co-workers understand and are cool about it.
I work for the largest Insurance broker in America.. so I am 'THE' Little Fish,... BIG OCEAN scenario.
I am totally under the radar. Such freedom!! Im a ex Claim geek with knowledge in Excel and random useless data, I am also filled with tons of equally useless insurance and legal data that outside my office is nothing but jargon blah blah.
So as I tell my father, in the real world, Im nobody, to my clients I am a 'feature'.
