Hi Pook...I never actually went inside of bridgeview so I can't comment but my friends boyfriend is the chef there...I'll try to get some dirt for you. I just read about JA so I'm sending you lots of hugs ...If you need anything or want to go look at other halls let me know. I have a lot of time on my hands now. Talk to you soon.

I like it - think its a cool place- but have never eaten there. Also, I have hung out there so many years that I couldnt book there because it was like 'too much like my past' not present self....

Hi Alias, sorry about JA But better now so that you have time to change. I booked there orginally but then cancelled only because of timing. I still love Bridgeview
Did you see the Lido Beach Golf Club up the road?

Re: What is your opinion of Bridgeview???
Lido is too small, I need someplace to accomodate 270-300. I liked it, but they were a little rundown. They are doing renovations though, and were not set up for a wedding. I am trying to picture how it would look set up for a wedding, and it's hard to do that without seeing the walls there. I loved the cocktail hour room though.

I'm confused. Is Lido under construction or Bridgeview? Just curious!

Re: What is your opinion of Bridgeview???
Bridgeview..they weren't actually doing construction..they were putting in a new air conditioning unit and had part of the cocktail room blocked off..

They also had no walls up because it's set up for teh summer, not the winter.

Re: What is your opinion of Bridgeview???
OH...I was curious because I was just married at Lido two months ago and my girlfriend is getting married at Bridgeview in October. I hope everything is fixed up for her by then.
Have you checked out Floral Terrace? It's not on the water, but it's gorgeous. We just went there for a wedding recently and it was amazing!!!
Good luck! I hope everything works out for you!

Re: What is your opinion of Bridgeview???
I just went to a wedding there- the food was great. What I liked about it was that each course came with a different side. Usually catering halls give the beef, chicken and fish all the same side dishes. However here they gave rice with the fish, potatoes with the beef, etc.
The salad was DELISH... mixed greens with candied pecans and strawberries. I also have to say the cake was as delicious as it looked (usually that's not the case- and it was very tasty).
As far as the cocktail hour- that food was good too- most amazing mussels I've eaten in a while at the seafood bar. There was also a mashed potato bar that looked great and was popular (don't eat carbs so didn't try them)... the antipasta display was abundant and delish as well. There were more stations but b/c of the no-carb thing I really didn't bother with them :)
I would recommend Bridgeview. The atmosphere is gorgeous and I think it's a lot more interesting than some 'regular' catering facilities.
Edited to say: Their AC blew at my friend's wedding- good thing it was on the water- they rolled back the sides of the tent and it was nice & breezy. While the AC was on it was VERY powerful! Kept the tent nice & cold.
The tent looks SO nice at night with the sparkly lights and the chandeliers..... I don't think you should worry.

Re: What is your opinion of Bridgeview???
I got married at Bridgeview in June. The place was spectacular. We heard comments afterwards like 'Best food I have ever had at a wedding'.
The packages are spectacular. They really help you out to have a great party. If you have any further ??'s FM me.

Re: What is your opinion of Bridgeview???
I am not sure yet, I will know by teh end of next week. I am still looking for places just to be sure. Bridgeview is definately a place I am considering. I have to see North Ritz Club tomorrow and I want to see Fox Hollow and Crest Hollow.
I already contacted Simplicity planning to get a price on new reception cards and new menu cards...

Re: What is your opinion of Bridgeview???
as an ex-catering person I would recommend Bridgeview over Crest Hollow. I was at a wedding at the Crest Hollow and there were people EVERYWHERE... there were at least 4 events going on at the same time and you had to pass all of them to get to the bathroom...
I was very cranky at that wedding... but that could be also because there was no booze at that function for religious reasons and no dancing either- so it was VERY boring. If there is no entertainment the food has to be kick as* and it really was mediocre.

Re: What is your opinion of Bridgeview???
Thank you everyone! I suddenly became happy. One of my customers will sell me the candelabras as centerpieces for under $30.00 a piece! Very good price considering flowers would have cost a fortune!

Re: What is your opinion of Bridgeview???
I just wanted to wish you good luck again and say that when I was at Bridgeview, the thing that really bothered me the most was the whole getting rushed out at the end thing, but If you are a winter bride then you wont be rushed out.
