FH and I were talking last night about how we would handle guests that don't RSVP and then show up. Although the wedding is really small, and our plan is to just call anyone who doesn't RSVP and get an actual answer from them, we were curious about this hypothetical.

I posted this same question. Personally, I will call them to remind them but if after that they don't RSVP, then too bad. If they show up I will not accommodate them.

I will call them up to a few days before my final head count is due. As far as accomodating them, I will determine that depending on the showing of guests who did rsvp....which is one of the reasons I am getting a DOC...so she can help me out with this.

I will probably have his dad/stepmom and his mom call their guests to get an answer. I would have everyone call thier guests to see who is comnig so we can get a headcount

Thats what we'll prob do. We had a post abou this a week ago too... alot of us said that we would seat them...with the dj
We;re going to call them. The wedding is small enough... and if we hear NOTHIN from them we will send a letter saying 'We have not recieved your RSVP to our 7.17 wedding, so we have taken you off the guest list tentatively. Please respond to this within the week if this is a mistake as we all know that mail gets lost in Brooklyn!'

My plan is to call the guests that do not RSVP a week after the RSVP date. I do not want any surprises on my wedding day.

I'll definitely call anyone who does not RSVP about a week after the RSVP date. And if I don't get an answer then, they better not show up! Cuz they'll be waving at us from outside!

Re: What is your plan about guests who do not RSVP?
I'm not calling anyone who doesn't respond, and if they show up, they can sit with the vendors. Everyone knows what 'Please respond' means, and everyone on my list has been to tons of weddings and should have this pretty much figured out by now.
I will have too much to do pre-wedding, especially as I am out of town for my own wedding, to chase down wayward guests, so they'll sit where there's a spot if they can't send back the self-addressed, fully completed but one number, little card.
(this is a pet peeve of mine from friends/family weddings where that ONE person always pulls this)
