Old ~ my crinoline and garter
New ~ my dress, necklace and earings
Borrowed ~ my crinoline and garter (all of my cousins and I used the same garter... kind of a tradition!)
Blue ~ the garter again! : )

Looking at it now, I didn't have much variety, did I??

something old and borrowed - my veil (my MIL made it for my husband's sister's wedding 10 years ago). I also had the bag my mom carried at her wedding and our ring bearer pillow was made from material from mom's wedding dress.

something new - just about everything else I wore

Something blue - a lace hankerchief with blue trim

Well I just got my something old. It is my baptismal hat. It was made with irish lace and made so that if you cut two stiches out of it is a perfect wedding hanky.

My something old is my Nanny's diamond cross that I am wearing around my neck.
My new is my entire outfit
My blue ????
My borrowed is the diamond earrings that I am wearing (although I wish those were my something new

And I LOVE the baptismal hat turned hankie. I have seen those in the stores and think it is a great idea.

My something old:I'm wearing my Mothers engagement ring on a chain around my neck.

Something new: My dress.

Something borrowed: ??

Something Blue: There are blue crystals on my dress plus I'm looking for blue shoes to match. If I can't find that I'll wear blue toe nailpolish.

Re: What is your something old...something new?

I just got my borrowed! My FH's aunt offered to lend me the diamond/drop pearl earrings she wore on her wedding day. So excited-they are just exquisite. I'm honored that she even made the offer.
Something new-that's easy, my dress
Something blue-pearl and sapphire ring that Dad gave Mom for her sweet 16 (!!!). I inherited it on my 16th birthday. And I just realized-it's old, too!
Wow, this was easier than I thought it would be!!

My something old was my engagement ring. The diamond belonged to my nanny and she and my grandpa were married for 51 years before he died so she figured it would bring us happiness and luck

My something new was my dress, my something borrowed were my earrings, which I borrowed from my sister (MOH) and my something blue was my garter

Re: What is your something old...something new?

Do you think it is ok to have something old, something borrowed, and something blue be the same thing? My Aunt is loaning me a sterling silver bracelet with diamonds and one sapphire in the center that belonged to my Great Grandmother.
The new will be no problem...dress, shoes, earrings.

OK...the knot has a great section on this something old....

I'm going to borrow my flower girl from her parents...

I'm going to try to get a bottle of wine from 1973...the year both of us were born...

back up: ask FMIL if she has old earrings I can borrow (not wearing necklace and mom doesn't have pierced ears)

how about this for blue? one blue flower in the middle of my bouquet? what do you guys think...

I never thought I would care about this stuff until the one months mark came!!

Re: What is your something old...something new?

Something Old- My parents are divorced so my mom is turning the diamond from her e-ring into a pendant and giving it to me.
Something New- Grandma is buying me diamond earrings!
Something Borrowed- Still working on that.
Something Blue- Probably a garter, toe nail polish, or maybe even undies!

By the way ladies, the last part of that saying is 'and a sixpence in your shoe', so don't forget that!
