What is your threshold for pain?

What is your threshold for pain?

How much physical pain can you endure? Do you pop pills for minor headaches? Or can you go for days walking on your sprained ankle?

Just wondering how much physical pain your handle without breaking down and crying.

Other than headaches, I have a pretty high threshold I'd say.
(Considering I've been massaging recently w/ very inflammed biceps tendonitis & can barely lift my arm, I'm working through the pain!!! )

If DH barely pokes me in the arm or something it hurts (I bruise easily so I'm a whiner), but I can go days with the pain of a migraine. I mean it SUX and I am ready to DIE but I've sat thru days at work, etc ...

Pretty high...I hardly ever take any kind of medication

Aspirin is for wusses!!!

But, for some reason, I can't hear about other people's pain...

I literally nearly passed out when hearing about my hairdressers boob job! I had to go sit in the car! And I can't watch ER either!

I'll only take something for migraines and cramps. Other than that I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. I live with arthritis pain almost everyday, but I never take anything unless I can't sleep or have to do a lot of walking. I probably wouldn't take anything for a sprained ankle. And I'll wait for days before going to the doctor for something.

I believe I have a pretty good threshhold for pain, I can pretty much drag myself to work and push through anything

But as Andrea said, my chronic headaches (particulary when they got as excruciating as my migraines had become last year) are usually close to a deal breaker for me.

I think I can answer this question better once I've actually gone through childbirth though..the thought of that type of pain freaks me out, quite honestly.. I'm afraid I WONT be able to handle it,and it scares me

I have a decent threshold for pain. But, I constantly worry about what every ache or pain may be.(afraid of serious ailments). I get more scared when experiencing pain than anything!!!

like you I have a high threshold for pain, but always wonder what every pain is. I am allergic to Tylenol and alot of pain meds, so I have no choice but to deal with it. I do take NyQuil when I go to bed at night if I am in tons of pain, just so I can get to sleep.

I have a high tolerance for pain. That's something my son inherited from me also. Bri will vouch for me. I never complain when I'm hurt. I always go to work. I had a procedure done on my back for my two herniated disk. They gave me no local, and didn't knock me out. All they told me to do was lay down. When they stuck me with the 6' needle. I didn't even feel it. I didn't even know they were done until they told me they were. As for my 5 year old son here's an example of his tolerance for pain. He broke his arm last summer playing handball. He fell running on the concrete. He didn't complain about any pain-nothing. His mom noticed his hand and wrist was starting to swell up. He wanted to keep on playing. She took him to the orthopedic and they put a cast on wrist and arm.

I can totally relate!
I was in the ER & freak outed, but not really in pain. Then they wheeled some guy on a strethc er by & he was moaning & I couldn't see if & I was starting to imagine all these things, was he stabbed, etc. . . I decided it was kidney stones, just so I wouldn't throw up.
Iw as goignt o tell you more details abotu my tolerance for pain in teh ER that day, but I don't want to gross anyone out.

I to pop Excedrian for headaches all the time though. Mostly because the pain is distracting, so it is hard to work.
