A LOT more than I expected. My parents thought my entire wedding would cost what my reception wound up costing. We'll leave it at that!

I may be off by $1000, but we are doing almost everything for around our budget price. In fact certain things came below budget for us. Thanks to girls on this webpage.

Our original budget was $16,000 and it will be closer to $17,000. I just got a new job for more $$$ so I am adding a couple of extras, like an 2nd photographer for the first 3 hours. Although we are going on an expensive honeymoon- we went $2500 over budget. But I would rather spend $ on a honeymoon that the wedding JMO.

My budget was 15K (not including HM). I went over by about 2 K, so final cost was about 17K.

Ours started at $30,000 but is quickly going up to $40,000. I'm trying to do everything in my power to keep it around 30 (a very large B list)

All I can say is.......YOU SMART LADY! If I had a dollar for every time I said this week, 'If we weren't spending all this money on the wedding we could have a house..' I'd be rich (ironic, huh?) I think you are going the smart route!

Re: What is your total wedding budget?

Well.. we never really came up with a budget. FH's parents are paying for the RD, flowers, photographer, DJ/video and officiant. My parents are paying for everything else except the honeymoon and our rings. (Basically, when it's done, our parents are splitting the cost of the wedding. That's how it's working out with the costs.)

We didn't set one, yet. But I figure between 20-30k including the honeymoon.
