FH works for an awning company & is hands-on all day. Our thought was to get 2 rings for him, one to wear every day & a nice one for special occasions....
So my question is
What kind of ring should we look for that is inexpensive & will be ok to wear all day with a hands-on labor type job??!?

Re: What kind of ring for FH??
My FH is in the flooring union and is constantly leaning on his knuckles. We were thinking of getting aTungsten as his ring so he can wear it to work with no problems, but I think he decided to get a White gold ring to wear when not at work. The jeweler said Tungsten wouldn't be a problem with his work. HTH

my DH has tungston, he loves it. he doesnt wear it work bc hes in construction so he doesnt wanna ruin it. also he doesnt wear it bc of just in case something happens to his hand its hard to cut off, and i rather him not lose a fingure.

tungsten.... They have a dark grey color that my FH loves ... i paid 200 with nice diamonds spaced out over the top..... Nothing can scratch tungsten... I dont think u can even size or engrave it without a lazer so make sure u leave time to send it out if u want it engraved!

I thought you couldn't engrave any metals besides silver, gold and platinum?

you cant size it, you have to order another one if u need a different size. it can be engraved, u dont need a lazer

Re: What kind of ring for FH??
Tungsten. Just bought FH one. Bought it online for about half the price that jewelry stores sell them for. He got sized before, so we are hoping it fits! Otherwise we just send it back. We got laser engraving, so they send you the ring to make sure it fits, then you send it back to be engraved. You can etch it, but it doesn't come out as good. There are ways to break off a tungsten ring. Check out you tube. I was quite concerned something would happen (FH doesn't work with his hands for a living, but he does work on cars from time to time and has had cars fall on his chest and etc.) so he looked it up and found out how. And btw, I've cut rings of people before, it's not easy to even cut gold. The tool we have at the hospital looks like a playdoh toy. LOL.
