What made you pick 2010?

What made you pick 2010?

I don't mean this to be an attack at all, I'm just curious!

I might have liked to get married in 07 (our 5 year anniv fell on a weekend) but it was just way too soon for us (we're still young, didn't want to rush, etc). We picked 08 because we wanted a summer wedding and I take the bar exam in 09 and I'll be working full time as an atty in 2010 and won't have nearly as much free time as I do now.

What made you pick 2010?

Re: What made you pick 2010?

we were a number of reasons.

1. wait for me to finish Law school and FH to finish his bachelors and start a PHD program

2. more likely to be able to afford it (have to save up a lot of money)

we have a few reasons..

first was we both wanted to be finished with school (i'm finishing my bachelor's and he's finishing his masters degree...we both graduate next year)

we wanted time to save up some money (which we haven't done )

and i really wanted to get married on a friday the 13th and it just so happens that our anniversary 8/13 falls on a friday in 2010

I picked other for a few reasons.:

1. I wanted to wait till I was 25 and I know age is just a number but I liked that age

2. I have been working as a teacher since last year and I wanted to be able to finish my masters (which will be done in Dec) so that I can get the big pay raise!!!

3. We wanted to save $$$$

4. We were originally going to get married in Dec 2009, but we wanted to get married on a 9, and it just so happened that Jan 9, 2010 fell on a Sat and we picked that!

It turns out that we are able to save A TON of money on the rh because we picked Jan, so we are happy!

we picked 2010 so we can save money to be able to have our wedding as well as buy our house! I can't wait! Were going for our food tasting at Chateau La Mer this Wed. and we will most likely book this week for April 30th, 2010

The reason why we are waiting I think is kind of odd, its because FH wanted to wait 2 years before we got married. I think its odd, because he is older than me (I'm 27, he's 34). The good thing is it allows pay it all off as we book everything and we still have time there is no rush

The biggest reason is MONEY. But I'll also be finished with school by 2010. Overall, I like having a nice long time to plan, get 08/09 prices, and get our choice of vendors.

I think no matter what the reasoning choosing 2010 is the best decision!!

well at first we wanted a valentines day wedding and we had discussed that before we got engaged so to have it in 2009 woulda been way too soon. we then spoke of having it on feb 14th 2010 which is a sunday and we were all gung ho on that.
we then re-thought that decision because of flower prices and holiday prices at the RH.
we ended up with feb 20th but it worked out amazingly because we saved alot of money on the hall and booked a beautiful place

As a teacher a summer wedding was the most convienent for me and 2009 was way too soon to do everything that i wanted. I knew if I waited naother year i would be more happy withthe plans I made and would not have to rush. Waiting is also allowing us to save more money!
