Mr and Mrs xxxxx or John and Jane?
I made mine informal and did John & Jane. My invitations didn't have the traditional inner envelope, though. They had a velum wrap with a seal and a name plate card.
I'm still undecided about what to do here...but, I think I'm going to go the less formal way and write first names...seems like a more personal way to do it.
I wrote first names
My invitation lady told me that the most formal way is: Mr. and Mrs. John Doe. Less formal is: John and Elizabeth Doe. Least formal would be: John (or Jack) and Liz. She suggested for me to use the most formal except with our close family and bp which we used the less formal (first names but no nicknames). Yes, it depends on what you want but I guess traditionally, if you're having a formal wedding, you are supposed to use the most formal way of addressing people to 'set the tone' of your wedding.
