Yeah! Are bid was accepted! After a lot of back & forth with another couple we finally got a house. At first we lost it to them but they backed out.(They sound very fishy, DH thinks it was a step up) I am so excited, I never bought a house before. So, Please tell how this all works now. The inspector is coming on Sunday. What is the next step? Is that when we go into contract & just what goes on with that? Why does it take soo long to close? Please explain all this to me. TIA & sorry so long but I'm new to this.

After inspection, the sellers lawyers will draw up contracts and send them to you. Based on your inspection you may have your lawyer negotiate with them on what items of concern they are willing to fix before closing. So there may be changes to the contracts. At that point, you sign them, send them back to the sellers and they sign them. Thats when you are IN CONTRACT. (this can happen quick or as it did with us and some other LIW girls take a month)
At that point you are securing your mortgage. Getting the bank any paper work, having the home appraised etc. Then closing. OUrs took a long time because the sellers new home wouldnt be ready until June 1. So we were in contract from March until June 9th! But a lot of others have it done within a few weeks to a few months!

Yes, I did. After alot of aggravation & disapointment we finally got one. We are having the inspection on Sun. I am right near you actually. FM if you want more info. I'm sure I'll be looking for advise on everything there. And how are you holding up? I hope all is good. I was wondering how you are.
