I never would have thought I'd have to pay for our vendors and discounted if we used house vendors if it weren't for reading posts on LIW.
What other hidden fees are there in wedding planning??? I would be horrified if there was an extra fee I didn't know about and not have the money set aside to pay it

What other hidden fees are there?
One thing a lot of brides overlook until the last minute is tips. Every vendor needs to be tipped that day which can add up. Ours looks like it'll be over $1K. Other than that, just read your contracts very closely. Especially ones that are timed like photo/video. Make sure you know what time your hours are up and if they'll charge you extra if you go over and how much. I also found out that house vendors aren't necessarily the top pick of the venue. They actually pay the venue an arbitrary amount (I've heard upwards of $30K) then they pay the venue another amount each time they book one of their couples. It's redic.

I agree! Tips are definitely something everyone should include in their budget since it could end up being a big chunk of money.

I have a question about tips- If the vendor says gratuity is included, do we need to tip on top of that? Our transportation said gratuity is included, is that enough or do I have to tip more?

I wouldn't tip more than that unless they maybe go above and beyond and like rub your aching feet lol

I actually asked this question to each venue we looked at.. theres always tip & tax not included in the price per person.. some places charge per valet, there is often a ceremony charge if you are getting married there too.. just ask about the hidden fees before saying yes
