If I have a $30k budget, what percent should be for the catering hall? FLowers? DJ? Anyone have a CURRENT figure? I have looked online and the numbers are so low...L.I. is so much more expensive....

It depends on who you ask... some 'experts' say 30% while others will tell you 50%. I think somewhere in between that should be okay. IMO... you just need to decide how much importance the hall has on your wedding. Do you want to allocate more money towards your photos/videos, or your music, or is the hall the most important? Ours came to about 40% for the hall I would say. Good luck!

I have seen a lot of articles that say 50% - but I agree with what you are saying about Long Island being very expensive - and your other vendors may very well add up over the other 50% - so I would try to shoot for lower - like heidi said!

Most sources I've seen say around 50% or anywhere from 40%-60%. Mine is around 60% of the total wedding budget.

With a budget 30K I think our would probably be at the 55% mark for about 170 guests!
My Dj is about 6% (1600) dont know the rest yet!
