I'm thinking I need a new scent for my wedding day. Has anyone used Angel by Thierry Mugler?
I've read it has a vanilla and sandalwood scent.
It sounds soooo romantic and this company I get my perfume from, Derby Fragrances (don't ask, I know the name is weird but they are super inexpensive and who has money when they're paying for a wedding!) is having a ridiculous sale on their Facebook page.
Maybe I should run to the store and sample it first?
Thoughts? Opinions? Advice???

My friend wears this and it always gives me a headache. it's a very strong scent IMO. Also I think it's hard for people to tell you what scent to buy or even to buy something online without smelling it. Fragrance is a very personal thing and I think you would need to smell it yourself.

ITA with needing to smell it on yourself. Perfumes can smell totally different on different people. They react differently with people's body chemistry. Hot Couture by Givenchy smells like raspberries on my grandma and smells like black pepper on me....lol

I second that Angel is so strong and it used to be so popular that now when I smell it it makes me sick (sorry don't mean do sound rude, just honest).
My two favorite scents are Philosophy Falling in love and unconditional love.
Thanks for the heads up ladies! I will be making a trip to Sephora this weekend to try out your suggestions and find a scent I love! Then its on to posting on Derby Fragrances wall to convince them to run a sale on it! I swear I'm not cheap, just frugal! Thanks again you all rock! Wish me luck

I think going to Sephora is a great idea. They have tons of perfumes and you can see what you want.

Sephora has these perfume samplers. They have other packages too. I have bought them as gifts but you could buy one for yourself. They give you a bunch of trial size bottles and a voucher to buy one full size bottle when you pick the one you like. I think its important to live with a scent for a bit. It changes after a while, so you can't just go by what it smells like in the store.

ITA. I tried this perfume out on the cruise and at first it was awful. I walked around for a little bit and ran into my SIL and said 'Hey- smell this awful perfume!' But it had changed and actually smelled REALLY good. Now, that's my go to perfume. Gucci's 'Flora'.

Angel gives me a terrible headache as well. I love Ralph Lauren's Romance and Burberry London.

Well I guess I am the only one who LOVE LOVE LOVES Angel. I have been wearing it for years and get compliments all the time. FH wears the men one and always get compliments and people asking 'what are you wearing it smells so good'. HOWEVER I do agree with everyone, perfume works into your PH balance, so what smells good on one person can cmell aweful on another. Get samples and try them out for a bit. My girlfriend tried one perfume and it smelled bad on her, but it smelled different on me. Also Angel has different perfumes so maybe one of the other ones you may like. Good luck!

I would sample before you buy, you may like a scent in the bottle or on someone but may not like it on you.

I wear Angel sometimes (and I love it) but I agree it is very strong. I only wear it on the weekends when I am going out to a club/bar or running errands. I won't wear it to work, class, church, etc. where I will be sitting do close to someone... some people are sensitive to the smell.

My mother wears Angel all the time & it smells wonderful on her- when I have tried it the smell is way too strong on me. I agree with the girls who say you should try it on perfumes smell different on everyone.
