The first time you went looking at halls, did you make an appointment and what are some questions that i should be asking? thanks in advance.

What is included in the price? BIG QUESTION!!! If it's $95/plate then you should ask what does that include. I would make an appointment as well.

I didn't really know either so I took my MOH - she asked things I would have never thought of...i.e. how far is the kitchen - do plates need to be covered? (serving time); vegetarian plates? bottled beer extra? cocktail hour alternatives - can they accomodate? I went to one place and the 'bad weather' cocktail room could not accomodate us - they wanted to put is in the hallway and lobby!! You'll think of things as you are walking around and as the manager is talking. Take a recently married friend, it helps. Good luck!

You definetly have to make appts. Theres a bunch of ques you could ask: whats your maximum/min capacity? How much per head? Do you offer to feed the band (vendors etc) for less? Do you cater? Do you have any recommeded vendors (photg, flowers-sometimes they give discounts if you use their recommended vendors)
Theres a book called The Brides Book of Lists, that has lists of questions for everything you could possible imagine. Its a small green book, I have it, it was very useful.

Also - beware of what I ended calling 'bait and switch' places. One place said my date was available and what the price was and when I got there, the date was not available and it was $15 more pp. They tried to talk me into something that I did not want. It happened to a friend at the same place.

How many weddings take place at time? If you want to be the only bride than this is important!
