what questions do I ask my insurance about what they'll cover?

Glad to see your back....I think people were begining to worry about you.

I am going to a RE next month. I called my insurance company and asked if Reproductive Endocrinologists were covered under my plan. Also ask if fertility treatments are covered as well.

unfortunately the plan I have, it will let me see a specialist but not get treated

I work for an insurance company ...what do you have? that will help...BUT the BEST thing to do is go tto the specialists, ask them to amke a list of what procedures, tests etc it is possible you might have, with codes if possible ( MANY DR.'s OFFCIES WILL DO THIS FOR YOU_So they dont have to)

Call the insurance company and go down the list.

We get a lot of that....each insurance company is different so dofferent things will and wont be covered....

There is a NYS mandate making infertility dr's visits covered and Artifical insemination covered, so that MUST be covered, but that is the leats expensive of anything you may need..sertain blood tests are mroe expensive then Art. insemination( which most dr's charge about $200 tops for!)

Hi!! Thanks for your responses!!! That sucks that many plan wont allow you to be treated by a specialist..its not fair. We have Aetna, Us health care, we have an open access plan a PPO I think.. the specialists say they take that insurance, but a friend told me just to amke sure with my insurance what will be covered. The place Im going to had me fill out a huge packet and asked alot about insurance and I know Ill meet with a financial person..I just want to know for piece of mind.
