What restaurants are good to go to w/ a Group?

So FH's friend from college and his girlfriend are coming into town today to visit

Any suggestions on good restaurants that are good to go to as a group? I was thinking of the Melting Pot, i've never been there but i'm thinking it may be fun going all together there...although i dont know if his friend will want to go b/c its kinda pricey...so any other suggestions appreciated! :) Thanks!

Cabo in RVC it has a nice atmosphere in there - music playing - kind of a bar atmosphere and the food is so good.

If you like Asian food, you have to try Tai Show (I think that's how you spell it). There are a few of them, but we usually go to the one in Massapequa. You get your own booth with sliding door and you get to sit on the floor and take your shoes off. You do have to make reservations, though. The booths fit up to 8 people, but 8 people is a little tight. It fits 6 people comfortably.

FH and I go to this place called Wild Ginger in Great Neck all the time. It is by far, the best Asian food...and it's reasonable.

Melting Pot is good, but not worth the money.

If you like greek or mediterian try Wild Fig in Garden City (there is also one in glen cove i think).

Or for sushi or habbachi in Garden City as well is Sushi Yah

Melting Pot is good for groups...but I would stick to the cheese and chocolate fondu. The actual food is pricey and not that good...everything starts to taste the same b/c it's cooked in the same broth.

Other ideas...

Piccolo in Bellmore...food is really good...and it's very inexpensive. I go there with my friends all the time.

Besito in Huntington or Roslyn could also be fun.

Any hibacchi place is great for a group...shiros or benihanas. Also, maybe a resturant bar like Miller's Ale House?

Ive been to the melting pot and I didnt like it at all. The only thing that was good was the choc everything else was to many different werid favors and fusions it wasnt worth it. Benihannas is great for groups and its alot of fun. and if you dont want to do asian luxe cafe has good food and affordable.
