What should i be asking the photographer?

I have my appointment with Duet tomorrow and I heard you can get a lot of stuff in your package for reasonable prices with them. It is possible that if all goes well tomorrow I might Book with them. Before I do this since this is the first vendor i would be booking...what kind of questions should i be asking before i decide to put down some type of deposit??? I ultimately want photography and videography and don't wanna go above $5k but I might just want photography from them since my dj offers a good price for videography. With that said I want my album,2 parent albums, all my proofs, portrait photos, and since i dont care for the engagement shoot...can i either ask them to negotiate the price more or can i ask them to provide me with my thank you cards??? can some of you girls just give me advice on what i should be doing tomorrow and asking so i have it down on the contract and i do not screw up and pay for something that i ended up not wanting or forgetting to ask for!?!?

Thanks

here at the questions I asked duet and all photographers!

4. What is your goal when you shoot a wedding?

5. Do you shoot digitally or with film?

6. How independent do you like to be?

7. Who would be taking the photos at our wedding?

8. Would the photographer have any other bookings that day?

9. Are you open to a “Must take” photo list?

10. What types of packages do you offer? How are prices determined? GET PRICE LIST!!!!!

11. How will I first be able to view my photos?

12. What type of lighting equipment do you use? Do you bring back-up for emergency?
13. Do you develop your own film? How long before negatives are available?

14. Do we get to keep our negatives? Do they have any markings on them?

I would ask about E-pics if its not in the package you want. We did, and got them added in. Others have asked about Thank You cards, or extra time with the photographer.

It never hurts to ask, either to get the info, or maybe get something included

Edited: saw you aren't too keen on the E-pics, I would ask about the Thank you cards, or upgrading the album and parent albums to add more images, etc

When we booked, it was a 20% deposit, or just under 1k, we broke it into two payments

i found they would throw a bunch of things in...thank yous, e-pics, some sort of s sign board and more pics in your album. Push for as much as you can get ...and negotiate on the price
