ok, I jus got engaged 7/17/04, we set the date 9/24/05. We are going to check out the hall next Friday.. now what?
Searched all the dressed on the Knot.. have come up with a few ideas..
I have a friend that has been with her live-in boyfriend for 10yrs, and engaged for like 5 yrs.. when I sent out my web page a week after getting engaged, she replied.. ALREADY?? Jus enjoy the engagement.. I thought she was crazy.. I'm ready to get things set....
I loke this board better then THe knot, but I ge lost with both, there's so much to read...
Usually the 1st things are the church (ceremony site) and the hall, then onto the DJ/band and the photo/video. That all should keep you busy for a while.

Hello and Welcome you are on the right track you must get the venue first so good luck with booking your hall.
Then comes everything else but everyone is right about the photograhy they do book fast because I did'nt get my first choice and I booked well over a year in advance. But Good Luck with everything and WELCOME

I would get the church and the hall as soon as you find it. Word of advice. One of the places that I went to had booked my date the night before! Good thing I didn't really like the place or else I would have been disappointed.

Hey Congrats on your engagement...I just got engaged Aug 20th and I have 'booked' my hall for Aug 27th next year..it was the only Sat they had left in Aug..also I have an apt with Perceptions Photography next Wed and I'm going dress shoppin on Thursday...I figure if i get everything done now, I can relax for the holidays etc!!!

Congrats on your engagement and welcome to the boards!
The first thing we did was the hall and church... we booked the flowers and DJ pretty fast after that because we knew exactly who we wanted. Photography took the longest but make sure you don't jump at the first great one you see- they're all great and personally I think its one of the most important decisions you'll make!

congratulations..
I say start a library of wedding magazines..
Take care of the big stuff first like the other girls said..
- Venue - Band - Florist - Photog - Officiant
Then, do the rest more leisurely-- dress, invites, RD, etc..
I was crazy for the first month, then I chilled out... However, I am back to being crazy again.

He is really good too about this. He loves to come on here and he even has his own screen name. You will be surprised how much FI's end up enjoying this as much as we do!!
