The man said that we're invited to a housewarming party.

Here's the low (lo?) down:

I don't wanna go

He's going to 'network' for the bizness.
He admitted that I'm going to be stuck talking to a bunch of boring wives.
He's also sitting here starting at me with a ******* 'Yes' sticker from the latest Lucky magazine on his forehead.
He says that we can stay for 90 minutes and then leave.
******

We have a shindig on Friday night and going to the beach on Saturday.
I am also covered in bites from sand fleas (thank you Cape Cod) and really uncomfortable.
Hence - I don't want to go. Like not even at all.

He's sitting here and super amused.

Gotta go.

You can see that he's compromising by giving it a 90-minute time limit. And at least he's being honest by telling you that you'll be bored, it's not like he's dressing it up.

Besides, if this if for the business then it's going to benefit you in the end. And if you don't show, then everyone will be asking him where you are instead of talking to him about business.

Plus like Tilde said, you'll enjoy mocking the other people on the ride home!!

I burned myself twice today.

don't let him rule over you through the use of Lucky Stickers I wouldn't go. I am too antisocial to handle shindigs with DH networking. I fear the awkward conversations that would ensue.

If I did go, I would make DH come into the city with me for Zen Palate and Baby Cakes and maybe even force a Broadway show on him (he doesn't get why there is so much singing). I milk everything for all it is worth.

I am a lurker but I chose go and he owes you. This way you have a trump card to use to torture him with something you will enjoy but he would not agree to under normal circumstances.

I made up wifely duties. But 8 of you believe in them.

I am going. He knows that he owes.
I have also ignored the lucky stickers all over my food in the fridge.
