What should I do about ordering BM dress - kinda long

So we finally agreed on a bridesmaid dress. But before I order them, I have to find my own dress. Im pretty sure I'll be ordering them from Burton's since they have the best price. Either way I dont know how I should go about ordering their dresses. My wedding is next october. Here's the dilemma

Matron - My sister lives in florida but she plans to come up in June or August for my bridal shower. She will also be coming a week before my wedding to help me with the last minute details. Should I order her the dress here and have her fittings when she comes for that weekend and the week before the wedding or should she order it in florida from a local store and have her alterations there?

BM - FI's sister also lives in florida but up north. She is pregnant but is due in April. Im not even sure how Im going to order her dress not knowing what size she will be after her pregnancy. Her first pregnancy she lost all the weight within the month, but who know's about breast size?! She has no plans of coming up here until the wedding. Should I order her dress here or have her order it over there?

BM - Friend that lives in Brooklyn. I know she's going to complain about 'trekking' out here to the island. Should I have her order a dress in Brooklyn to make her happy?

Not a big deal, but I'd like to get everyone's opinion. TIA!!

hmmmm... would it be possible to order their dresses at the same place but then ship to each girl to handle alterations? This way you know how the dresses look before they go out and you get them cut from the same bolt so the colors don't vary.

i have one BM in CAlif, 1 in LI
2 in Bklyn

I ordered some dress on LI & Some on line

I did a newsletter with all the info phone# etc
&mailed to all - MOH will follow up

Maybe the newsletter idea may work for you

I live in Chicago and my BM were all over - 3 in NY, 3 in Baltimore/DC area, 1 in Louisianna

Since we were all over the place I ordered them from Houseofbrides.com (they also had the cheapest prices). I wrote a personalized letter for each of them thanking them for being in the BP and I included a pic of dress, cost and a place in their cities where they can get alterations. I had them send me their measurements and deposits, so I could order the dresses at once. When the dresses came, I just sent it to each of them.

You definitely want to order the dresses from the same place and put the order in at the same time. You want the dresses to come from the same dye lot.

Since the PG BM is due in April, you can probably do a rush order after she has the baby. I did a rush order and it took 8 weeks for the dresses to come in.
