What should I do (concerning RSVPs)

What should I do (concerning RSVPs)

I mailed my invites out the 21st of November and the RSVPs had a cut-off date of December 10th. December 10th is 7 days away and I only got 24 RSVPs back. Am I going to have to call everyone who doesnt respond by then? I dont understand how hard it is to stick something with postage already on it in a mailbox. Im really annoyed right now. FH said whoever doesnt respond by then isnt invited but that would be EVERYONE!!! He's crazy.

Id give it a little time, its hard to say that they can come 2 months in advance you know? plus all my RSVPs came at the last minute! i only had 50 on my cut off date, then 2 days later got about 100, it was crazy, people like waiting till the very last minute to bother us brides lol

I know, Im crazy. The reason is because I have an A and B list. I had to send out the first batch this early so I can see how many people wont be coming to know how many to send out for the b list. My b list Rsvps have a cut off date of Jan 7th.

I was thinking about doing that A_list/B-list thing too, but what happens when the A-list says they aren't coming and then 2 weeks later they change their mind?

Def. call the people who do not respond. That is so annoying that they did not respond.

Ugh that is absolutely terrible!! People are so inconsiderate! People may not have realized the RSVP date because invites are usually only sent out 8 weeks before the wedding but unfortunately you will have to call all of those people Although FH may be onto something!! I like that idea!!

Easy no one is allowed to change their mind. Its yes or no thats it. If there was a maybe on the cards there wouldnt be any need for RSVPs. lol Screw that.

Juan would say the exact same thing!! He'd be like 'so? screw them, thats their problem. they don't come..... their loss' Meanwhile theres tumbleweed passin' through my reception hall and 12 empty tables except for Grandma, and my cousins who'll show up for anything, especially free cervesa (beer).

I would give them another week, then start emailing or calling or whatever

Even if you start calling some, word will get out to others that you WANT the rsvp now.

Re: What should I do (concerning RSVPs)

Hey date twin. I just started sending out my invites and they have an RSVP date of January 5th. I know most of family just think I automatically 'KNOW' that they're coming and they don't have to send back the RSVP, but they don't understand how necessary it really is. I had a small B list that had only about like 3 or 4 people and they ended up going on the A list anyway since it was only a few people. So I figured this was a good time to send it out.

I can't believe that it is less than 2 months away. Have you started freaking out yet?? I have but I can't show it!!

I would give people a little more time since they had less than a month to RSVP. For some reason people find it really difficult to mark off yes or no and put it in the mailbox

I wouldnt call people so early because u only gave them 19 days to RSVP & people normally have 2 months or so. Id call the earliest 1 week after the RSVP date, but you'll prob get a lot last minute anyway.

I think you should have given them 30 days to respond., so give it until the 21st.
