OK...I'm the MOH in my MOH's wedding in 3/2005. Last week I sent an e-mail to all her BM's asking some ???'s about her shower...where, when, etc??? She has family in GA, FL, and NY....she lives in DC. So I strated making a couple of different suggestions about where and asked for some feedback....WELL...
MY MOH e-mails me this morning apologizing for all the drama that's ensuing (???) I told her no one ever responded to me and apologized for involving her, but what the heck was going on....she stated every single one of her BM's called her this weekend about my e-mail but she really wouldn't say much else because she didn't want to start a big scene. My ??? is even though not one of these girls has contacted me should I send another e-mail and if so what should I say????

Re: What should I do (kinda long)
what was written in the email? could they have misinterpreted something? what was the tone? how bizarre!
i think you should ask your friend what she would like you to do. if it were me, i would send out another email alluding to the fact that i knew that 'drama' ensued and i just wanted to clarify what i was attempting to accomplish. 'we all want XXX to have a great day, i just wanted to introduce myself, get the ball rolling, and welcome any and all ideas'

I don't think the e-amil could have been misinterpreted..I put in their veral times...What do you guys think???? and I'm opne for any and all ideas.
My friend is really uptight and a control frek, so I really want to make the shower a complete surprise so I really don't want to ask her...I was just kinda like ***???? she said the girls weren't pissed but it just got them all talking and so logically they'd call the bride???? Again...***!!!!
Thanks for the advice!

then write a follow-up email stating you were thinking this could be a surprise, what is everyone else’s vote?? then ask them to help you 'through her off', pretend it's one day when it's actually another...

I'd send another e-mail or call each of them asking what their problem was and why they felt the need to involve the bride....it's supposed to be a surprise for her!!!

Re: What should I do (kinda long)
Hmmm.. I dont mean to put a damper on things, just maybe a different perspective so please, please, please dont get mad at me for saying this. I am also a control freak and one thing a control freak hates.......is to be surprised. The only thing I can think of is maybe she told someone who passed it along the grapevine what she wanted for her bridal shower, only it never got back to you. I can only speak from experience that I have made it specifically clear to all my BM's that I dont want it to be a surprise. If I were you , I would talk to the bride and get her take on what she wants to do. Again, you wont be giving her any information, but you'll at least get an idea of what she wants. Maybe she can also give you some advice about which one of her bridesmaids you can collaborate with. Just some ideas....... Hope everything works out for you.
PS - I wonder why all her BM's ran to her about your email?
