during my first church meeting with my priest??? My first meeting is this Saturday and I have no idea what to expect, what we will go over, and approximately how long the meeting with be.
my first meeting was about a half an hour.. we pretty much talked about what we wanted.. saw if the date was available.. went over pricing and chatted for a little
OooOOo & if you already booked your RH... i would try and leave that out & not offer that info to the priest (if you aren't asked).. it is proper to book your church ceremony before your RH.. just a lil tip :)
Our 1st meeting was about 1/2 hr-45 minutes. The priest talked to us separately and then together- he put our date in the book and had us sign a few things.

Our 1st meeting was about an hour and the deacon just gave us 3489274 things to read and sign. We were also 'put in the book' on our day![]()

our meeting was about 15 minutes long. the priest asked us what date & wanted & what time. then asked for our mailing addresses. then asked if we where baptized, received communion & confirmation. then he told us about pre-cana & that was it.
Our meeting was about 45 minutes we looked at dates and we spoke w/ the priest a bit. He then spoke w/ each of us seperately and took notes. He said he will do that in each of our meetings and that is how he will do his homily based on what we tell him.
We spent about 45 min with our priest...He first had us together and asked us some questions about the wedding, and our backgrounds like what parish FH belongs to and stuff. Then he separated us and asked us individual questions like do we intend to have children, were we ever married before, is there anyone that would disapprove of our marriage..Sounds a lil intimidating but it wasn't so bad...and then we had to sign some things too
Thanks for your responses! It definitely seems as though the meetings vary depending on which priest you meet with..I guess everyone has their own style. Thanks again! I definitely have a much better idea of what to expect!
