FH and I were invited to a wedding that we can not attend (previous plans ) )so I want to send a gift... should I send something off the registry or $$$?

off the registry is a good idea another idea - that i did- was send one of those picnic baskets that holds wine, glasses, plates and napkins. we bought one for ourselves too since we go to the vineyards alot.
FH and I couldn't attend the wedding of one of his pool buddies and he gave them money. As for amount, he gave what he would've if we both attended.

If they have a registry get something from there. Money is great too, but then they actually have to go out and get it, when they've got so much other stuff to do. And you're left with the problem of how much, which depends on how close you are with the couple.

I would send money. If I was close with the couple I would give the same amount as if I were attending the wedding. JMO

My FH believes in getting something off the registry if not attending the ceremony. When we go, we usually give about $100 each (give or take depending on how close we are).
