My FH has both his nephews as GM and their mother (his sister) is a BM. Well last night they went to get measured for their tuxes and low and behold they started complaining about the price of the tux. It's $145 including shoes and all accessories. So she calls FH last nigth to complain on why they can't just buy a tux for that amount, WHAT??!?!?! Then she wanted to know why the 'BM' couldn't get a better deal for their dresses? WHAT?!?!?!?!? Mind you their dress was $120 plus tax. I wanted to jump through the freakin phone and SLAP HER!!!!
Makes me want to just tell them all to forget it and get new people for the BP. Which is exactly what FH told them. I was so proud of him!!! Then they changed their tune, 'oh no I want to be in it, but I was just saying' But it just pisses me off that they are complaining about the money when we told them last summer about the tuxes and the girls have known since Nov. about their dress cost. I mean really??? Am I complaining that I gotta spend hundreds and thousands of dollars to FEED THEM!!!!
This is the reason why I told FH I didn't want alot of people in the BP!!! Now I'm thinking of just cutting them all out and just have the MOH and BM. Just so I can save the stress!!!

Wow - it's that much for the tuxes - I never thought they were so expensive. Is she kidding about the BM dresses - $120 is cheap! How much were the dresses at her wedding? You can't get too many dresses for much less then $120.
It's great that your FH said that to his sister though!!

Maybe you should let her know that 12 years ago when my brother got married, that the tuxes were $100 and the BM dresses were $145!!! So considering what they are paying, it's not much at all!!!

$145 was the cheapest we found for the tuxes we want. They are Silver, from Perry Ellis, most other places were quoting us $175 plus the cost of shoes and accessories were extra!!!!

That's what they wanted to pay for the tuxedo rental $100!!!! I wanted to just SCREAM!!!!

Both you and your FH did the right thing, and went far and beyond your call of duty. You got AMAZING prices for the dress and the tuxes...they have absolutely no right to complain....
I really hope they weren't expecting you guys to throw in a 'well, we'll help you if you need it' in there....

i'm probably going to be the odd girl out here - but i have to agree with her about $145 being too much for a little kids tux....... i felt the same way when we were getting ours - and keep in mind she has two kids to buy them for......
thats why we went to tricounty and bought the tux for our ring bearer there - it was $50... and to perfectly honest - looked just like the big guys on the big day
her dress - however - shes gonna have to suck it up - $120 is a good price!!!

I feel your pain baby...but your fh set them straight...I doubt you'll hear any more complaining when they know they are one word from getting the boot (or the fancy stiletto) right out of the wedding party.

Her 'kids' are 26 and 20. They are both working men who are paying for their own tuxedos. The ringbearer's tuxedo is being bought at Tri-County as well.
