What small details are worth spending the extra cash?

Ugh... I can't decide. From personalized napkins, to personalized water bottles, matches, etc etc. To do the tealight candles around centerpieces or no? To get colored glow sticks and fun party stuff or no?

Re: What small details are worth spending the extra cash?

the little details that people complimented me for were:
customized printed real rose petals that were scattered on the place card and cake table, the flip flop baskets and the water bottle labels and 'do not distrub' signs that were in the hotel bags.

I personally did not want any glow sitcks/party giveaways bc it reminded me too much of batmitzvahs and sweet 16s.

i think personalized napkins are also a nice touch - but opted for the rose petals instead

edit - ita with the other brides...if you have the $$ to spend - go for a photo booth!!! i have gone to wedding that have them and LOVE them....but it wasnt in our budget. also, looking back on the pics we have received so far (zap shots and friends pics) there are people that we have no photos of at all...we hope our pro pics captured them but if not oh well! at least with the photobooth almost everyone makes it in there

Re: What small details are worth spending the extra cash?

depends on how much $$$ extra you want to spend

if you want to spend $500-1000, then do a cigar roller and/or photo booth

if you want to spend like $200-300 extra, then i'd say, menus, napkins/matchbooks, etc.

i agree, glow sticks seem a little juvenile for a wedding

I am doing the photobooth, channa plaque, and personalized napkins (just ordered them 2 seconds ago)

I wasn't too into matchbooks and a few other things....but that was just my opinion!

I also agree about the glowsticks. Our photobooth comes with props and I'm even tempted to nix those but I figure I'm being a ZILLA then

I agree with this. If you have the money, then def go for a big extra. I did a bunch of small stuff that in the end would have come out to something big. I dont regret it but honestly they are all things only I will probably notice.

I am def glad we did the photobooth!

small extras that I thought were worth it were petal cones, slipper basket and the bathroom baskets. All the slippers were gone and i've seen some of my friends wear them since when they are slumming around. We weren't going to do a menroom basket but i'm glad we did. A lot of mouthwash was used and so were the gum and mints. fresh breath for everyone.

the petal cones i liked because of what they add to the pictures

I think the extras that make your guests day better or your photos better are more worthwhile

So - flip flops- def worth it. Many people thanked me
Photobooth- I didn't do this, but I think it would be worth it since it's a favor and an entertainment factor.
uplighting-makes photos better. We did it just behind our dais.
tealights-I kind of like

I don't really think the personalized napkins and stuff really add much, but some people are into them. I'd prefer matches over napkins since I can take them home and use them.

I'm not into glow sticks, etc for a wedding. I think the DJ should be able to get people to have a good time with just music, but if you like it, it probably would make for some cool photos

ETA: I love my current avatar pic

<_______

It shows a lot of the personal details of our wedding,

it shows our uplighting, our favors, our ketubah, our channa plaque (which, SOO many people took photos of, and some friends already copied), a Cinderella plaque I found at the last minute when I was shopping for DH's card, etc.

We just booked the photobooth. Big cost (FH didn't want to spend extra $ but my mom and I did it anyways so hopefully he loves it when he sees it)

We also purchased personlized napkins and matches but I ordered them so long ago so it didn't really affect the budget too much.

We are doing a cigar bar which wasn't too expensive since we bought cigars ourselves and they will be set up on a table with the personalized matches.

How many cigars are you getting for how many guests? We are doing a cigar bar and trying to figure this out now.

nto sure how much generally but Chrissi from FairytaleEvents NY quoted me $795 for the rental and then there were add ons:
-Photo Booth, including unlimited photos for a 4 hour reception
-Attendant, who will set up, break down and assist guests throughout the evening
-Use of prop baskets for photos
-Password-protected Web Gallery, where you and your guest can view photos from your event

Additionally, you can also customize your package by adding any of the following services:
-Double prints ($100)
-Scrapbook, including double prints ($150)
-CD of all images from the event ($50)
-Additional Hours ($125/hr)

I think hand calligraphy is a really nice touch worth the money. I got a TON of compliments on mine.
